So this is pretty silly, but I was testing out some software to record video calls and decided to show one of my friends what a freshly-installed C2 was like (Well, the GOG version, which includes the life-kits). The end result was, well, a very classic C2 experience. Content warning and minor spoiler: Drowning.
Should I do more stuff like this? It was kind of fun.
That was amazing. XD
ReplyDeleteIt really did look like he was thinking "Watch out! I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna jump in again!"
I really loved that threatening pose sequence in C2; it doesn't seem to exist in C3/DS, but then again, 'cliff edges' aren't really a thing in C3/DS either now that I think about it?
DeleteLOL So cute. I wonder how you're meant to teach them not to jump in? Surely the first experience should have made him afraid of water?
ReplyDeleteYou would think, but I guess not! And if I hadn't gone to check on him in time, that first experience probably would have been his last. I wonder if the makers of C2 actually bothered to play-test the game sometimes, heh.
DeleteSuch a typical Norn! And I was practically screaming "Game State Controller!" when he had the stars around his head... Because that's about the only useful piece of information I know about Creatures 2. Ha! This was awesome, and so funny with how that little guy really was getting ready to make you save him again. I would watch this again! I hope your friend enjoyed this and might consider playing (or watching) Creatures again in the future.
ReplyDeleteHah, once I saw the game state controller in the list my mental reaction was "oh.... right, of course" but wow I did not even consider it in that moment of crisis! I'm so rusty when it comes to C2, but maybe I'll get in some more practice in the coming days.
DeleteI remember playing through C2 being blissfully unaware of any of the problems that it had until I read about them online years later. I think I just thought that I was fairly bad at the game :-P
ReplyDeleteI feel like there's a lot of C2 that I never really "got", so I'd be pretty interested in any C2 videos you feel like putting out in the future.
