Selective Muco Prototype

This is more or less a mock-up and in no way close to being done. I'm just excited I actually got the list to work properly:

If you can't tell though, it's an attempt at an edited version of the egg layer to allow you to pick norns from a list rather than going through them one at a time. The panel can be shown or hidden using the little circle on Muco, and when a creature is selected on the panel, the breed will show up on Muco, where you can select male/female and lay eggs like normal. Since you can scroll through pages of 14 breeds at a time, it should just make selecting different breeds a little easier so you won't have so many of those moments where you are clicking through to find a certain breed and then accidentally click past it. Don't you just hate when that happens?

Again, it's just a shell prototype right now and is not in any way functional nor close to being so, and this thing is such a horrible headache to code that you probably shouldn't hold your breath. But as always, feedback is appreciated-- little words of encouragement here and there go a long way in keeping my motivation up, heh.

  1. Difficult or not, I really, really hope you take the time to continue this. I'm sure nearly every person in the CC will love you for it.

  2. Theres an agent called "muco update: live creature layer" or something like that so please make sure they don't crash into each other.

  3. I have been waiting for someone to do this. What a great idea!

  4. Really looking forward to getting this agent if/when you finish coding it :D Good luck!

  5. I love your blog, and I've had hours of enjoyment reading it. Just one question... When will you post again?? I'm really looking forward to your posts. I'll check back regularly in hope.

  6. Sounds like a great idea. And yes, loathe it when you accidental click past the breed you want :P

Probably a little premature, but could I be conceited enough to ask for a feature?

I recently discovered the CFE updates and no longer have a use for the original breeds that came with the game. Would there be a way of turning off breeds you no long need displayed? I hate having to go through half the breeds in the list knowing I no longer want to use them.

Although this would be a great deal less of an issue with your list idea.

  7. @Bob -- I really can't guarantee that, but adding a live birth option to the updated muco might be possible.

@Arch -- Wow, turning off breeds... I think that would be possible, but extremely difficult, like increasing-the-coding-involved-twofold level difficult. But it's such an interesting idea I think I will seriously consider it-- assuming I can even get a basic release out!

@Everyone else -- Man I half-hate myself for posting this at all. Every time I even open the file to look at the code I get dizzy. But thanks a lot for the encouragement :) Maybe someday I'll overcome my fear of listing-code!

  8. All you have to do for any breed you no longer want to use is to remove the agent for that breed or replace the gen file.
